These tacos are made with a crispy yet pillowy shell made using tortillas.
Green apples were used for this recipe which I would definitely recommend. The green apples balance well with the spices and create an amazing flavor.

Ingredients needed to make the tacos:
For the taco shells:
Cheesecake filling:
- Heavy cream
- Cream cheese
- Lemon juice
- Vanilla
- Powdered sugar
Apple filing:
- Medium/large green apples
- Butter
- Cinnamon
- Nutmeg
- Brown sugar
- Cornstarch
- Water
Steps to make the tacos:
To make the apple pie filling:
- Peel and dice the apples and sit them to the side in a dish.
- Heat a pan to medium heat, add the water and cornstarch and whisk together.
- Add the butter to the pan and melt.
- Then add the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg and whisk together until blended.
- Add the apples and cook for approximately 10 minutes or until the apples soften.
- Once the apples have softened, add the vanilla and mix together.
- Remove the mixture from the heat and allow it to cool at room temperature.
To make the cheesecake filling:
- Using a hand or stand mixer, beat the cream cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar and vanilla extract until blended and the mixture thickens- approximately two minutes.
- Place the filling in a piping bag and place it in the refrigerator while preparing the tortillas.
To make the tortillas:
- In a pan, heat one inch of oil on medium heat.
- Combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon on a plate and sit it to the side.
- Place the tortillas in the oil and fry for 10-15 seconds frying them one at a time. Place the tortilla in the oil, fold it in half and fry until golden brown.
- Once brown, remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel-covered dish for a few seconds then immediately place the tortillas in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Sprinkle the tortillas on the inside and out with the mixture.
- Place the tortillas on an upside-down muffin tin.
Steps to build the tacos:
- Fill the taco shell with your desired amount of cheesecake filling.
- Top the filling with your desired amount of apple pie filling.
- Serve and enjoy!
The tacos are best served the first day; however, they can also be placed in the refrigerator in an airtight container for a few days.
I removed them from the refrigerator about 15-20 minutes prior to eating them just so they weren't super cold...talking about delicious!
