Fried Oreos are Oreo cookies dipped in pancake batter,
fried until golden brown then sprinkled with powdered sugar.
Watch us make these Fried Oreos!
Oreo cookies are delicious alone, but they are even better dipped in pancake batter and fried. This is a traditional state fair recipe, but it can easily be made at home.
The powdered sugar added to this recipe is a must. Although Oreos are sweet, since these cookies are being battered they need the added sweetness.
So let's get into it so I can show you how it's done!

Ingredients needed to make the Oreos:
- Oreos: chocolate-flavored, about 20
- Pancake mix
- Whole Milk
- Large egg
- Vegetable oil
Steps to make the recipe:
In a deep skillet or deep fryer, add oil and heat to medium heat. In a bowl, add milk, egg, and two teaspoons of vegetable oil and whisk together.
Add the pancake mix to the bowl and whisk together until the clumps dissolve. Using a tablespoon dip the cookies into the batter one to no more than five at a time.
Place the cookies into the oil one at a time. I don't recommend adding more than five cookies into the pan or fryer at a time to prevent the cookies from gathering and sticking together.
Fry the cookies until golden brown, between two to five minutes. After the cookies are brown on one side flip over and cook them on the other side.
Once the cookies are done, transfer them to a paper towel-covered dish to drain any excess oil. Once you are done frying the cookies, dust them with the powdered sugar.
I used a sifter to add the powdered sugar to the cookies so the sugar could be spread evenly, but you can also use a spoon to sprinkle the powdered sugar onto the cookies.
You can use any pancake batter that you want for this recipe. I used Bisquik just because it's my favorite box pancake mix.
Single-stuffed Oreos were used for this recipe, but you can definitely use double-stuffed Oreos as well.
Enjoy!
