Brownies are delicious on their own, but adding cheesecake filling takes these brownies over the top. Red Velvet Brownies are made with a red velvet brownie base swirled with decadent cheesecake.
We made the beautiful red velvet swirl on top of the brownies to make them nice and elegant to make them special for love day or any day that you're in the mood for brownies or a little something different.
Nothing makes a person feel more special than a delicious treat, especially one that is homemade.

Ingredients needed to make the brownies:
For the brownie layer- you will need:
- All purpose flour
- Granulated sugar
- Brown sugar
- Semi sweet chocolate chips
- Unsalted butter
- White vinegar
- Unsweetened cocoa powder
- Eggs
- Red food coloring
- Vanilla
For the cheesecake layer- you will need:
- Cream cheese
- Granulated sugar
- Egg
- Vanilla
Steps to make the Brownies:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Make the brownie layer first by placing the butter and semi-sweets in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals until melted. Stir together after each interval.
Add ½ c of brown sugar and ½ c of granulated sugar to the bowl and mix until blended. Mix the cocoa into the batter until blended.
Add the vanilla, vinegar, and eggs to the bowl and mix well. Then add the red food coloring and mix.
Next, stir in the flour until it's fully incorporated. Spray 8×8 baking pan with nonstick spray. Reserve ⅓ c of brownie batter and pour the remainder into the prepared pan.
Make the cheesecake swirl: Using a hand or stand mixer, mix the cream cheese, 1 /4 c of granulated sugar, 1 egg, and ½ teaspoon of vanilla mixing until blended and smooth.
Pour the cheesecake mixture on top of the brownie batter and spread it evenly. Then add dollops of the reserved brownie mixture over the cheesecake layer.
Glide a knife through the layers creating a swirl or S pattern. Bake the brownies for approximately 30 minutes. Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting.
Serve and enjoy!
