No ice cream maker is needed to create this recipe! You only need a mason jar and four ingredients - heavy cream, sugar, salt, and vanilla.
Add the ingredients into the mason jar, place the lid on the jar and shake until combined. It's just that simple!

Ingredients to make the Ice Cream:
Ice Cream
Heavy cream
Granulated sugar
Vanilla extract
Salt
Whipped cream
Heavy cream
Powdered sugar

Steps to make the Ice Cream:
Prepare the Ice Cream:
- In a large (16 oz) mason jar, combine the heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Place the lid on the jar and shake the mixture until combined.
- Place the jar in the freezer for at least 3 hours.
Prepare the whipped cream:
- Using a hand or stand mixer, mix the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla on high speed until stiff peaks form.
- Pipe the whipped cream onto the ice cream as desired.
This ice cream recipe is a traditional Vanilla Ice Cream recipe, but if you are looking for addtional flavor, other add-ins are: unsweetened cocoa powder, and fresh fruit such as strawberries, bananas, peaches, and cherries.
Here are some topping ideas as well: chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, butterscotch, toffee, pecans, peanuts, slivered almonds, caramel, chocolate fudge, whipped cream, and marshmallows.
This ice cream can be stored in the freezer for about three months, but I highly doubt that it will last that long 🙂
